One of the families that lived here at the Husertal, near Hausen am Albis, during the late Middle Ages, acquired the name Grob. Later, during the 16th Century some members of the Grob family took part in the Anabaptist movement and eventually found their way through Germany to North America. There the name is commonly written as Grove.
