Spring Creek Meetinghouse, Hershey, PA — current site of Huber Cemetery

Hans Jörg Huber (ca 1691-1747) and his wife Anna Catherina Hillesheim, immigrants from Germany, settled just south of what is now the city of Hershey in Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. They belonged to the Reformed Church, but their extensive family eventually involved Dunkers, Reformed Mennonites (Herrites), United Brethren and others. Some of the Reformed Mennonite descendants of the nearby Hershey congregation moved west, to Muscatine, Iowa. They were there ancestors of J. Edgar Hoover, organiser of the FBI.

Descendants of this Hoover family settled near Chambersburg in Franklin County, and Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Others live in New York State and elsewhere.

DNA testing in this family would clarify much.
