"Quite a brilliant affair took place on Wednesday at the old Holmes homestead. About 50 relatives and friends assembled to witness the marriage of Miss Lillie Holmes to Mr. Smiley, merchant, of St. Thomas. The bride was the recipient of many handsome and valuable presents."
