| 38 |  | Basement Facilities for the Love Feast at Big Swatara, Hanoverdale Spring and fall love feasts brought hundreds of visitors from other Dunkard congregations, as well as other Anabaptist fellowships of the area. The event involved three days of preaching, singing, the Lord's Supper in bread and wine, feet washing, using the holy kiss (sisters to sisters, brothers to brothers) and many times baptisms in a nearby branch of the Swatar. Baptisms were performed, face forewards, dipping converts completely, three times, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Not unusually, baptisms took place in the winter, where a hole was cut into the ice. | |
