    • Obituary - REID, Constance "Betty" of Port Dover passed away at Dover Cliffs Nursing Home on January 23, 2010 in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband Donald "Knobby". Loving mother and mother-in-law of Gary and Sharon of Waterford, Sharon of Simcoe, Donna and Spud of Port Dover and Susan of Port Dover. Cherished grandmother of six grandchildren, Tammy, Jill, Nicole, Melissa, Jennifer, Jessica and eight great-grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Marion and Norma. Predeceased by her brothers Clayton Burgess and Jack Burgess. Betty was an active member of the community, she was a member of the Women’s Institute, Grace United Church and the U.C.W. She was also previously involved in Scouts Canada, as Akela for cub scouts and a past president of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Betty will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Her family will cherish the memories of their life together. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover, 519-583-1530, on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (evening only). A Memorial Service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Grace United Church (Chapman & St. George Sts.) Port Dover. The Reverend Murray Rounding officiating. For those wishing, donations to Canada for Haiti or Camp Trillium, would be greatly appreciated.
