    • Obituary - LONG – Charles Douglas, of Port Dover at Dover Cliffs Nursing Home on September 7, 2007 in his 80th year. Predeceased by his parents Craig and Elsie Long. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Joseph, Frances (Dorien) Smith, Phoebe Chapman, Alfred, Thelma Partridge, Robert (Jean), Peggy (Norm) Tremblay, Frederick (Bernice) and Shirley. Will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Jim and his wife Viola, brother Mid, sister Mabel Diggins and her husband Walter, sister-in-law Irene and brothers-in-law Doug Chapman and Harold Partridge. Charlie was an avid sports fan, especially local Port Dover hockey. He spent many hours reading and enjoyed spending time in the garden. He will be sadly missed by all his family. Friends met with the family on Monday, September 10, 2007 at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel. Reverend Frank Walker officiated. Cremation followed. Memorial donations to the H/N Alzheimers Society would be appreciated.
