    • Obituary - HOWDEN, Donald Ray. Passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. Don Howden of Jarvis in his 82nd year. Son of the late Melvin and Beatrice Howden, oldest brother of Carl (deceased) and Liz, Wesley and Kathy, Eileen and the late Don Hopton, Eugene and Fran, Doug (deceased), and Marlene and Ross MacDonald. He is survived by his wife Betty of 57 years and his children Jim and Bonnie, Dennis – Tink and his wife Dianne, and Diane and her husband Morris (Zak) Zakamarko. Proud grandfather of Tim, Alison, Chelsea, Taylor and Shannon. Don was a life member of Jarvis Lions Club, joining in January 1952. He is a retired member of Jarvis Fire Department for 23 years. Cremation has taken place with a private committal service at a later date in Wesley United Church Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cooper Funeral Home, 519-587-4414. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation, Arthritis Society, West Haldimand General Hospital or Lions Club International Foundation (L.C.I.F.) will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Jarvis Lions Community Centre, followed by a time of fellowship and reflection until 4 p.m. Friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca
