  Obituary - POWELL, John Charles (Jack). After a short illness at Norfolk General Hospital on Sunday, December 14, 2008. Jack Powell, beloved husband of Lois (nee Payne), in his 81st year. Loving father of Derry and his wife Ora and Jack jr. and his wife Tammy, all of Port Dover. Dear grandfather of Deryc and Sarah and great-grandsons Maitland and Paxton. Brother of Harold and Joan Powell of Port Rowan. Jack will be sadly missed by his special friend Daisy. Jack spent more than 60 years as a commercial fisherman and net builder in Port Dover and was in demand for and always available to help anyone who needed help at building or mending nets. However, Jack always tried to put his family first and was a family man at heart. At Jack’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service and cremation has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the charity of your choice in honour of Jack’s memory.
