Obituary - Suddenly at home on Friday August 15, 2008, Stephen Charles Varey in his 59th year. Loved by Steve’s companion and best friend Cheryl Laroque, Delhi. Lovingly remembered by wife Louise Varey, Simcoe. Cherished dad to Nick Varey and Cindy Nieuwkuyk of B.C., Nathan and Leesa Varey of Langton. Loving son to Mary Lou and Bill Varey of Port Ryerse. Son-in-law to the late Hattie and Ralph Goos Sr. Brother to Brian and Anne Varey of Long Point, Cathy and Duncan Buckle of Port Ryerse, Mike and Darcy Varey of Simcoe, Anne and Kevin Gosse of Shingletown. Brother-in-law to Anita Goos and Howey Zwarich of Toronto, the late Ralph Goos Jr. and Georgina Armstrong and Rick and Linda Goos of London. Special nephew to John Varey and friend Elaine Fraser of Port Dover and the late Betty Varey. Steve will be remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Raised in Delhi, moved to St. Williams to work at his uncle’s variety store, purchased his own variety store in Silverhill and later returned to Delhi running Paint Plus. Steve was a member of AA and the Gentlemen of Harmony Barbershop Harmony Society. Steve always loved the wind in his face and a good song, so sing a song in Steve’s memory and pray that he is finally at peace. A celebration of Steve’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 21st, 2008 at Old Windham Church, Glendale Crescent, Simcoe. Visitation from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. David Bish officiating.
