    • Obituary - HUNT, WILLIAM ELGIE "BILL" -- peacefully at his home on Monday, January 12th, 2009 in his 74th year. Beloved husband of the late Ann Hunt (nee Gould - 1990). Lovingly remembered by his children & grandchildren; Barry Hunt and his wife Janess of Kitchener, their children Andrea & Dawson; Carole Hunt-Ford and her husband Raymond of Richard's Landing, their children Caray, Brielle & Nolan; Lisa Hunt and her husband Ed Doucette of Fenwick; and Keith Hunt and his wife Betty Ann of Waterloo, their children Taylor & Macey. Dear brother of Marge Akins and Marie Flannigan, both of Port Dover. Bill was born and raised in Seaforth, Ontario and graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Agriculture in 1955. He moved to Simcoe where he worked as manager at the Norfolk Co-op for over 20 years. He was active in Jr. Farmers where he met his wife of 30 years and together they raised a family, competed in square dancing and enjoyed weekly dances and social events with friends. In 1977, he and his family purchased and operated the Winterbourne General Store. Bill then moved to Elmira where he worked for a veal supply company, providing consultation, milk replacer and medicines to farmers throughout Southern Ontario. After his wife passed away in 1990, he retired and moved to Norwich, St. Thomas, Port Stanley, and had recently returned to Simcoe where he was thrilled to catch up and reacquaint himself with friends from earlier times. Bill loved life and people. He will be fondly remembered for his great laugh, love of music, food, family and friends, antique cars and tractors, and his ability to "snooze" anytime, anywhere. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bill with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Friday, January 16th, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. The service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Old Windham United Church, Glendale Circle, Simcoe. Lunch reception to follow. Private family interment of ashes at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Matthews Memorial Hospital.
