      George F. Holden started "The Wigwam" before 1912 and it was run by he and his wife. It was sold to Carl S. Ryerse in 1919. The Arbor was established in 1919 by Carl S. Ryerse at its present location, the corner of Main and Walker Streets. It was operated for many years by his sons, Victor and Vernon Ryerse.
