Obituary - HOSKINS, Helen Leota (nee Reid) of Port Dover, peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 28, 2008, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Patrick. Loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Mike and Deb of Port Dover, Larry (Sam) and Michelle Lyons of British Columbia and Pat and Jeff Greenfield of Simcoe. Cherished grandmother of Gavin, Tyler (Lisa), Ryan (Lisa), Cody (Ashley), Casey, Dustin, Beau and three great grandchildren, Guerin, Ashley and Ethan, and aunt to many neices and nephews. Will be sadly missed by her cousin and long time friend Hazel Sherman. Predeceased by her parents Frances and Albert Reid, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Fred and Josephine Hoskins, her brother Hazen Reid and his wife Doris, sisters Lillian McNeilly and her husband Stuart and Mabel Blayney and her husband Mac, nephews Jack and Darryl Reid, good friend Lois Snider, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Also predeceased by her furry best friends Mandy and Josie. Helen will be fondly remembered by all the members of the groups she belonged to, Monday Afternoon Ladies Group, Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 158, Wednesday Bowling League and Silver Lake Rebekahs #150. A special thank you to Sue for taking such good care of our wife and mother. Her family and friends will hold fond memories that will be cherished always. In keeping with Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family invites friends to share their memories of Helen at memorial visitation at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530 on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. A Legion Ladies Auxiliary Service will take place at 4 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
