    • Obituary - OAKES, Inez Rachel (Dunbar). It is with sadness, the family announces her passing on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Norview Lodge in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Ross Oakes. Loving mother of Shirley Parkinson (Terry) of Port Dover and Ron (Brenda and the late Jo Anne) of Simcoe. Lovingly remembered by her 14 grandchildren Danny (Sue), Kim (Rob), Michael, Brad, Kevin, Jeff (Trudy), Simone (Drew), Renee (David), Shannon, Donna, Sarah, Darryl (Laura), Mark (Jennifer), Julie (George), her 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter Amelia and her daughter-in-law Carolyn Oakes. Predeceased by her children James, Larry, Glenn and Lynda. Inez was a recipient of a 50-year pin commemorating her involvement with the Order of the Eastern Star, in September. She lived her life as a farmer’s wife raising a large family on the farm. Friends were received at the Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519-583-1530) on Sunday, November 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services were held in the chapel Monday, November 21, 2011 at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Kendall Reimer officiating, followed by interment in Port Dover Cemetery. The family would appreciate expressions of sympathy, to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or Simcoe and District Humane Society.
