Obituary - BUCKLEY, Ruth Ellenora (Burch) - after a long and courageous battle with cancer, the family of Ruth Ellenora (Burch) Buckley is saddened to announce the end of an Era. The remaining survivor of the former Ruth's Wayside Inn has passed away. She was 89 years of age. The death occurred at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Dec. 6, 2010. She was born in Simcoe, Ontario to Ezra Burch and Isabella Mitchell on April 7, 1921. Ruth was the youngest of 3 daughters, Aileen Carmount, formerly of Guelph survives her and Marion Campbell of California (deceased). She was married to Edward Stanley Buckley (deceased) on May 22, 1940 in Toronto Ontario. Ruth and Stan were the proprietors of Ruth's Wayside Inn for almost 20 years until they moved to Muskoka in 1965. Beloved mother of Lynn (Chris) Owen of Huntsville. She was predeceased by daughter Coreen (Beirness-Pucan) and son Norman. Survived by grandchildren Jim (Sue) Beirness of Tobermory, Ontario, Donna (Eric) Prust of Saintfield Ontario, Carrie (Ken) Cunnington of Dwight Ontario and Greg Allinson of Huntsville Ontario. Also survived by great grandchildren Carmen and Kirsten Cunnington, Taylor Bechtel, Katherine, Michael and Nicholas Prust, Brandon and Braydon Allinson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mitchell's Funeral Home in Huntsville, Ontario. Service took place at All Saints Anglican Church by the Venerable Dawn Henderson on Dec. 10, 2010. Spring committal to take place at St. James Cemetery in Port Cunnington Ontario. Pallbearers were Gary Allinson, Greg Allinson, Chris Owen, Ken Cunnington, Bob Baker and Mike Ide. Memorial gifts can be sent to Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Hospice Huntsville or the charity of your choice.
