I found the original deed dated June 22 1875. It is very old and hard to read. The Deed of Land was from Elizabeth Jacques to Ann Silverthorne. Ann was my Great geat great grandmother. The land description is beautifully handwritten as most documents were at that time. The price was $600.00.
This Indenture made (in duplicate) the twenty second day of June one thousand eight hundred and seventy Five
IN PURSUANCE OF THE ACT RESPECTING SHORT FORMS OF CONVEYANCES:
Elizabeth Jacques of the Township of Woodhouse in the County of Norfolk widow of Thomas Jaques of the same place Farmer deceased
of the first part
and
Ann Silverthorne of the Township of Etobicoke in the County of York the wife of Gordon Silverthorne of the same place Yeoman
of the Second part
Witnesseth that in consideration of Six Hundred dollars of lawful money of Canada now paid by the said party of the Second part to the said party of the First part (the receipt whereof is hereby by her acknowledged) she the said party of the First part Doth Grant unto the said party of the Second part her heirs and assigns FOR EVER
All and singular those certain parcels or tracts of land and premises situate lying and being in the Town of (North East) Port Dover in the County of Norfolk and Province of Ontario Containing by Admeasurement Sixty four rods be the same more or less being comprised of Town Lot Number Four East Side of St. Ann Street and Town Lot Number Four on the North Side of Amour Street in the Town of (North East) Port Dover as Indicated on a plan of part of said Town of Port Dover made by one ?
