      Francis John (Jack) Harvey

      Francis John (Jack) Harvey, 97, husband of late Mabel Backus Harvey, formerly of Wheeler Street, Auburn, N. Y. died Tuesday September 30, 1986 in Auburn Memorial Hospital.

      Mr. Harvey was born in Falmouth, Cornwall, England, and had resided in Auburn for most of his life. He had been employed by Alco as a tool maker retiring in 1957. Prior to thate he was employed by the E. D. Clapp Co. of Auburn. He was a member of the Wall Street Methodist Church and a member of the choir. In addition Mr. Harvey was a former N. Y. S. Horseshoe Pitching Champion and a member of several drum & bugle corps and was a participant in several minstrel shows over the years.

      Surviving are: a niece, Grace Marz Martin of Green Valley, Arizons; three great-nieces, Kathryn Martin Muething of Englehart, Ontario, Canada, Lynnette Martin Alweis of Denver, Colorado and Louise Ann Martin of San Diego, California; three great-great nieces, Garnet Muething, Lauren and Erin Alweis; one great-great nephew, Leigh Muething; three first cousins, Myrtle Harvey Scovern of Franklin, N. J., Mary Harvey Salvas of Wycoff, N. J. and Thomas Harvey of Star Route, Auburn, N. Y.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Thomas McCandrew of Auburn, N. Y. and Mrs. Frederick Bostwick of Adams, N. Y.

      Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn, N. Y. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wall Street Methodist Church in Mr. Harvey's memory. Brew Street Funeral Home.
