    • Obituary - BALLANTYNE, Laurel (nee MISNER) – of Hillsburgh, ON, (formerly of Port Dover), at Georgetown Hospital on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, in her 85th year. Loving and devoted mother of Robert and Barb Ballantyne of Hillsburgh and Margaret Ballantyne of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Walker, Wyatt and Miranda. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Robert Misner, Florence Watkinson, Donald and Bertha Misner, Eleanore Misner and Thelma Misner. Will be sadly missed by her many, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Henry and Olive, brothers Jack and his first wife Gen, Charles, Elmore and his wives Janet and Gertrude, Henry and his wife Mildred, sister Margaret and brother-in-law Chuck Watkinson and sister-in-law Muriel. Laurel was a Private 1st Class in WWII and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #158, Port Dover. She will be remembered for her great sense of humour and her generous and kind nature. Laurel was a dedicated and proud grandmother and her three precious grandchildren will hold very special memories of her. A Memorial Service to celebrate Laurel’s life will be held Thursday, November 2, 2006, at 12 noon at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 102 First Ave., Port Dover, (519-583-1530). Reverend Malcolm Muth officiating. A Legion Service prior the memorial at 11:30 a.m. For those wishing, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
