    • Obituary - STROPLE ELIZABETH 'Betty' (Ivey) On Saturday, April 14, 2001 at Norview Lodge, Simcoe, Betty, in her 84th year; was a lifelong resident of Port Dover; predeceased by her husband Clarence (1965); daughter of the late Harry and Evelyn Ivey; loving mother of Liz and her husband Barry Smout of Simcoe and Paul of St. Thomas; proud and dear grandmother of Christopher and his wife Karen, Jeffrey and Justin; predeceased by a brother Robert Ivey. Betty was a devoted member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and St. Paul's Club, and Simcoe Curling Club. She loved to read and was a very frequent visitor of the library. Betty, along with the Ivey family, was instrumental in the founding and successful growth of Ivey's Inc. of Port Dover.Betty was a well known and respected citizen of Port Dover and will be fondly remembered by all. A Service of Memorial and Remembrance for Mrs. Strople will be held Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 1 p. m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church (Market and St. George Street), Port Dover. Rev. Rob Doerr officiating. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME LTD. (519) 583-1530.
