    • LEWIS, Ester "Marie" – formerly of Port Dover, peacefully, at Cedarwood Village, Simcoe, on May 21, 2008, in her 101st year. Predeceased by her husband Jack (1995). Dearly loved aunt of Betty and Douglas Murton, Doris and Alex Landon and Paul and Mary Ann Colman. Much loved great-aunt of 10 nieces and nephews and great-great aunt of two nephews. Predeceased by her parents George and Mary Jane (Ryerse) Mitchell, brother Leo Mitchell, sisters Pearl Mitchell, Minerva Hammond and Millis Colman, niece Lola Dennis and nephew Douglas Hammond. Several 100th birthday parties were held in Marie’s honour and attended by her family, friends, residents and staff of Cedarwood Village. Marie was a longtime resident of Port Dover and spent countless volunteer hours in the community, including active membership in the Port Dover Branches of the Canadian Red Cross and Norfolk Hospital Auxiliary. She was a longtime dedicated member of Knox Presbyterian Church and the Heather Club. Marie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all her family and friends. At Marie’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Friday, May 30, 2008, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (afternoon only) at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover, 519-583-1530. A Service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, Chapman and St. George Sts., Port Dover, Reverend Malcolm Muth officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford. Memorial donations payable to the Canadian Red Cross, Volunteer Assoc. for NGH/NHNH, Pt.
