Cemetery Location: 3.8 miles northeast of Farmville, Virginia on Route #460;
thence 4 miles east on Route #135; thence 2.1 miles
northwest on Route #636. Cemetery on the north side of the
road.

OWNERS:
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hughes, 1937 present owner.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a small family cemetery with about twenty graves, enclosed with a wire
fence.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
The following two markers are the only ones bearing a date previous to 1860.
These are large upright granite, about two inches thick; eighteen inches wide
and about thirty-six inches high.

Died July 19, 1851
Col. John Foster was a Colonel in the War of 1812. He was born May 23, 1787 and
died Dec. 8, 1874. He is buried in this family cemetery, there is only a rock
for a marker, this bears no dates.
