Newby, John and Mrs.
The Newbys came from the United States. They settled on the SW 31-52-22-W3rd.
John spent much of his time in the lumber mills north of St. Walburg. He built a big house of lumber. He had an artificial hand or hook, with which he could do most anything, even peel potatoes.
Mrs. Newby cooked for large steam engine threshing crews of fifteen or more men. The cook car travelled along with the threshing rig.
When the Newbys sold their place, they went to Chicago.
They had two children, Hazel and Clarence.
