    • OBITUARY - Mary Rachel (Foster) Russo died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association's Hospice House.

Mrs. Russo suffered a stroke in March, 2007, in Buffalo, N.Y., where she lived. Her family brought her to New Hampshire for her recovery where she received wonderful care. However, a series of seizures made it more difficult for her and she moved peacefully into her next adventure with her daughters and granddaughters at her side.

Mary was a wife, mother and grandmother first and then a dedicated Avon representative for more than 50 years, winning many awards. She was a walking advertisement, as people always complimented her on her flawless skin. She took great pride in her community and was active in politics, working at her voting booth for more than 30 years and in her local block club. She was a wonderful inspiration to all who knew her.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, George P. Russo Sr., in 1999; and a grandson, Blaine Tucker, in 2005. Survivors include children, Patricia Tucker of Northfield, Barbara Joan Bullock of Andover, George P. Russo Jr. and Elizabeth Russo of Buffalo, N.Y., and Charles and Jennifer Russo of Seattle; grandchildren, Rachel MacDuffie of Salisbury, Drake Giles of Manchester, Melissa Newton of East Andover, Lee Tucker of Northfield, Joshua Russo of California and Jack Russo of Seattle; great-granddaughter, Ashley Tucker Hardy of Boscawen, who provided a summer filled with laughter and great therapy as her full time caregiver. She us also survived by nine other great-grandchildren who helped with her care too; two older sisters, Bessie and Francis; and two brothers, Roy and Martin Foster, all of Canada.

A service was held Oct. 22, 2007, in Buffalo, N.Y. Burial will be held in the spring at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., alongside her husband.
