Obituary - On the 30th last, there passed away Sarah Masecar beloved wife of T.L. Gillies Esq. in her 72nd year. She was born at Rockford and lived nearly all her life here. She was a good Christian woman, doing her duty faithfully and well as a wife, mother, sister and friend, and was most loved and respected by those who best knew her. The funeral was largely attended on Thursday week. Many beautiful floral attributes testifying to the esteem in which she was deserved. In addition to her husband and other relatives she leaves four daughters: Mrs. T.R. Dearle, Toronto, Mrs. F.C. Cover, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Henry E. Jergins, Santa Barbara, Calif, and Miss Mattie Gillies at home and two sons: T. Bergin Gillies, Chicago and James Gillies, Detroit to mourn her loss. The family have the sympathy of their large circle of friends.
