Selkirk, May 20 - A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral of David Alexander Waterbury held on Thursday afternoon. Services were conducted at his late residence and at the graveside by Rev. Earl Sider of the Tunkard church, Cheapside, assisted by Rev. P. W. Watts of the United Church. During the service a mixed quartette composed of Calvin Hare, Russell Hare, Mrs. Russell Hare and Mrs. Freeman Steele sang Abide With Me. The Pallbearers were Lloyd Lindsay, Harold Snider, Charles Sheppard, Maurice Buckley, John Atkinson and Keith Schweyer. Interment was made in the Selkirk Union Cemetery.
The deceased, who was in his 61st year, was a prosperous farmer living near Cheapside and was a lifelong resident of Walpole township. He is survived by his wife formely Isabel Robbins, one daughter, four sisters Mrs. Leslie Swarts, Nanticoke, Mrs. George Walker, Hamilton, Mrs. Walter Sitter, Cayuga, and Mrs. P. A. Gloyd, Selkirk; four brothers, William, Copper Cliff, Ont., Clarence, Toronto, Cecil, Selkirk, and Walter of Cheapside. - 1944
