  From: The Sherk Family by Thomas A. Sherk - Clara Sherk was the daughter of Andrew Sherk and his wife Lizzie Hoover who died when Clara was only about two weeks old. Andrew then married Minnie Baudella Cooper and had five more children - Lilly Lauretta Born July 5th 1901, Richard Ernest Born 11th December 1903, Albert Warren Born March 2nd 1906, Harley Jackson Born October 10th 1907, Debora Jean Born June 27th 1908; and Clara was adopted by Andrew's brother Ephraim Sherk and his wife Caroline Huber Clara and Douglas Peel resided in Rainham Township, Haldimand County, Ontario. She was killed in an accident when an automobile struck a horse drawn carriage that she was driving after dark. They had no children. She is buried in the South Cayuga Evangelical Cemetery along Rainham Road in Haldimand County.
