  From "Two Hundred Years With The Siders" compiled by Harold Sider and Roy Sider - As a young man Henry worked as a clerk for J.W. Swayze at the Winger store. In 1888 he moved to Tonawanda, N.Y. where he attended Business College to become an accountant. He was a very active man: a successful businessman, an active Rotarian and active in civic affairs, at one time holding elective office in the city government. He took a leadership role in the Baptist Church. He was a poet, nature lover and family man.
