    • Letter from Mary Glover to Jess Weaver
      November 19th, 1902

      Dear Cousin,

James received your letter the night before he died and was awful glad to get it. I suppose you heard he was dead. He was real well when he got up in the morning and he eat his breakfast and went out in the field to husk corn and dropped dead. I tell you it was an awful blow to me and the children. It was an awful blow to have a son and then my husband brought in dead and never have the chance to bid them good-bye.

He died two weeks ago to-day. We buried him in Woodland Cemetery near London. His brother Sam and his sister Lizzie was here from Michigan. Our son in laws were pallbearers. We feel awful lonesome without him. Charley [21] and Johnny [17] and Hattie Pearl [14] is at home with me. This is all the news I can think of this time so I will conclude with my best love to you and your family. Be sure and write.

      Goodbye
I remain as ever your Cousin
