John Dunmead married Mary Ross January 01, 1815 in Grimsby; service performed by Robert Nelles, Justice of the Peace for the District of Niagara and Province of Upper Canada.

(1) Muster Roll of Captain Abram Nelles, Flank Company, July 24th to August 24th, 1812 shows Private John Dunmeeds - Lake Lodge Papers
(2) Muster Roll of Captain Henry Nelles Company of 4th Regiment, Lincoln Militia, July 4th to 24th, 1814 shows Private John Dunmede.
Received land in Erin Township, Received land in Middleton Township in 1821 for his service during the War of 1812. He would have been only 10 years old in 1797 when his father filed his Upper Canada Land Petition, so too young to petition as a Loyalist.

Noted for having seen General Isaac Brock shot off his horse.
Noted for having been on duty at the scaffold at Burlington Heights July 20th, 1814, when the eight convicted of Treason at the Bloody Assizes of Ancaster were hanged.
