Provincial Archives record that Lot 8, Concession 6, Township of Gainsborough was located to Frederick Gee under the following Magistrate's Recommendation:

Province of Upper Canada
The bearer, Frederick Gee, 60 years of age, born in West Chester, professing the Christian religion, and by trade a Farmer, having this day been examined by me, and taken the Oath prescribed by law, is recommended for a location of two hundred acres of land within this district, provided it does not appear from the surveyor's books that he has had any prior grant of land in any district of this province.

FREDERICK GEE'S WILL
In the name of God amen I Frederick Gee of the Township of Gainsborough County of Lincoln and province of Upper Canada being of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God. Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men (once) to die do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and Recommend my Soul unto the hands of Almighty God that and my body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the Discretion of my Executors nothing Doubting but at the General Resurection I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I Give demise and dispose of in the following manner and form.
First I give and bequeath to Sarah my Dearly beloved wife the Household furniture one Cow four sheep to be at her command and Discretion and her maintenance from the farm whereon I now live during her life time or widowhood and after her Death I bequeath the old home state to my well beloved Son Jonathan Gee. I give and bequeath unto my beloved Son Henry Gee fifty acres of Land whereon he now lives I give and bequeath to my beloved son David Gee one Hundred Acres of Land being the South hundred of Lott number seven I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Joseph Gee fifty acres of Land being the one Half of the South Hundred of Lott number Eight I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary fifty acres of the South End of Lott number Eight. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Rebacka that my Son Jonathan Gee to pay six pound or one Cow when she comes of age or married and my Son Joseph Gee to pay to my Daughter Rebacka three pound when she is of age or married and my Son Jonathan to give her four sheep. I likewise Constitute make and ordain the Sole Executors of Last will and testament my beloved friend Robert Comfort and Daniel Barton of this my Last will and Testament and I do hereby utterly Disallow Revoke and Disannul all and every other former Testament will Legacies Bequest and Executors by me in any wise before named will and bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal this twenty first Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine.
