Andrew Bingelman Jr. was born in the State of New York on November 18, 1829. His siblings Christina, Rosanah and John Shiveley sailed with their parents Andreas Benkelmann Sr. and Anna Maria Schäufele Benkelmann from Le Havre to New York arriving in America October 14, 1829. The family settled first in Amherst Township, Erie County, New York where they are listed under Andrews Spingleman on the 1830 Census. A son George was born in Lancaster, New York in 1831 and sometime after this they moved to Humberstone Township, Welland County where other children were born. Later they moved to South Cayuga Township, Haldimand County where Andreas Sr. received the Crown Patent to the North Half of Lot 26, Concession V, South Cayuga Township, 100 acres, on July 27, 1854. On August 9th, 1856 Andrew Bingelman Jr. married Mary Ann "Polly" Sherk who was born June 3rd, 1837, daughter of Christian Sherk and Anna Dauner. They had seven children, some born in Moulton Township, and some born in South Cayuga and Rainham Townships. Andrew Bingelman Jr. died in 1870 at the age of 41. Mary Ann then married Henry Rhora in 1873, there were no children from her second marriage. Mary Ann died December 26, 1921.
