- John Edward Dixon is the son of Edward Dixon and Mary Smith of New Brunswick, Canada. He was born in 1811 and died in 1864. His first wife was Thirza Dille, daughter of Luther Dille and Ester Hickock. She was born in 1817 and died about 1849. In 1850 her children are living with her father and another Dille relative in Ohio. Her daughter Amelia Clare Dixon b 1842, married Andrew Little.
