Notes
From "Herald of Truth" published in July 1889
STRICKLER. - On the 29th of June, near Goshen, Elkhart county, Ind., of heart disease and old age, Susan Strickler, aged 84 years, 1 month and 15 days. Buried at the Dunkard church west of Goshen. Services by Preacher Ringler and J. S. Coffman. The deceased was the widow of Samuel Strickler who died about 20 years ago on the farm where his widow has since been living with the family of her eldest daughter, who is married to David Ganger. She leaves four children living, one of whom resides in Haldimand county, Canada, the former home of the Strickler family. Sister Strickler was for many years in sympathy with the cause of Christ, and it was her purpose to live a life of faith, but it was only within the last few years that she professed faith and united with the church. But her purpose seemed firm, and she rejoiced greatly that the Lord had made her willing. She was much afflicted for thirteen years, and kept her bed for two and a half years. She was a great sufferer the last year of her life.
