Obituary:
Albert E. Weaver
The death occurred in Rainham township on Thursday, November 4, 1937, of Albert E. Weaver in his 74th year. Mr. Weaver was born in Walpole and at the age of 4 years moved to Rainham with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Weaver and lived on the old homestead until his death.

Mr. Weaver was superintendent and Sunday School teacher of the Stoney Creek United church for 25 years and also Life Deacon and member of the Selkirk Baptist church. He was well liked by friends and neighbours. In 1890 he married Emma C. Held who predeceased him in 1933. Two sons also predeceased him, Jacob in 1891 and Charles in 1911. Surviving are one son William at home and one daughter, Mrs. A. Smith (Beatrice) of Dunnville and six grandchildren, also two boys from Dr. Barnardo's home, Mr. James Newman of Cayuga and Mr. Cecil Wright of Niagara Falls. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Ellen Thomas of Hagersville and Mrs. Almeda Sitter of Cheapside. Three brothers and one sister predeceased him, Mrs. Mary Thomas of Michigan; John of Decewsville; Louis of Selkirk; and Jesse of Cheapside.

The funeral was held from his late residence on Sunday, Nov. 7th, at 1:30 p.m., and proceeded to the Cheapside Baptist church for service and interment. The services were conducted by the Rev. Emery Shank and Rev. C.H.Bentall, B.A., B.D. The pallbearers were Messrs. Arthur Gee, Jos. Gee, Albert Brick, J. Rhora, Howard Otterman and Frank Atkinson. The funeral was very largely attended and the floral tributes were very beautiful, including a wreath from his son William and family, sprays from James Newman, Cayuga, Selkirk Baptist church, Stoney Creek Sunday School and Friendship Circle, Mr. and Mrs. James Hammond, Carson and Dorothy, Dunnville, Mr. and Mrs. Will Weaver and Beatrice, Selkirk.
